Welcome to the website of ANSCo, the first National Swiss Association for Counselling and a member of the European Association for Counselling (EAC).
In its capacity as the reference association for counselling in Switzerland, ANSCo provides a platform for anyone with an interest in counselling, counsellors or clients looking for support. This website is updated on a regular basis and provides information on the Association, counselling in general and training opportunities. Spirituality in the Helping Professions – How to Assess for Mental Wellness

Counselling with the Aged

Providing counselling to the aged certainly requires a genuine and honest involvement with the user/client, a trust in that person’s inner resources, a personal attitude of openness and understanding that are the background to any action in a psychological counselling.

However some specific age-related aspects should be taken into consideration when addressing an aged person, as we also do with other categories of clients. There are in fact some common features to the aged which, if neglected, could result in the establishment of a wrong setting or a more general misunderstanding of that person.
